Hi Sara!
Will we have opportunities to take pictures with the cast if we don’t pay for photo ops? I bought VIP tickets like a year ago.
Some of the actors allow pictures at their tables if you purchase an autograph, some don’t. Some will have a ‘combo’ deal (table pic + autograph=x amount of money). It’s all at the discretion of the actors.
So I necessarily do not have to purchase photo ops online? Can I just stand in line and take a pic on my iPhone? Do actors stick around before / after the convention for fans?
vip is like fast track unless you get celebity vip. Autos cost me like $500 for 10 of the major actors.
I assume you don’t mean taking a picture with the whole cast at once. I believe some actors will take a picture with you at no charge if you are purchasing an autograph
hey jeff ill see you there buddy!!!!!!!
How is Tara’s photo more money than Michonne’s lmao
and once again Michonne canceled
Is it worth spending $60 for a picture with Chandler Riggs? It would be awesome but why so much for a person how is alive??
LOL hes 80.00 now. daddies band must not be selling enough tickets
I won’t have money for my photo ops until the 13th of February when i get my tax money back. Can i pay for my photo ops when I get to the convention? I do have a VIP pass
You will be able to purchase photo ops at the show but there is always a chance the photo op sells out while you are inline.
I don’t remember the tax on photo ops before, probably just me…
If I pay cash at the convention will there be a tax too? Wasn’t expecting one online.
no tax for autos not sure if the photo ops are the same. its cash at the table right near the celeb. talk about awkward.
So how much will autographs be since this is a separate charge from them correct? First time I’ve been to this type of thing
how much is it per autograph?
Autographs were about 25-$50. They would usually have a combo price of around 60-$70 for a selfie & autograph.
It depends on the actor but at the San Francisco con it ranged from about $10-70. The higher end usually included a selfie. Also the more popular people usually charged more. Some had just a selfie option too.
how much is it per autograph?
the actors decide, maybe 20, maybe 80.
major characters will charge $40-80. side characters are less but do you want theirs? like gomez who was only on one episode before getting choped in the head by rick.
the fa
the faq says that photos are encouraged, do they encourage “selfies” with the celebs or just pics from afar? trying to figure out if photo op is worth $, never been to this before
Sometimes the guest allows selfies if you pay for the autograph. It all depends on the guest. If you don’t want to risk it I would buy the photo op.
They hated when you took pictures from a distance, the volunteers would waste no time to tell you no pictures.
they say they encourage you to record and take photos but that’s a crock. they mean u can photograph the convention. Taking picks of the celebrities you can take pics from afar but it has to be far away. Self photos with celebs will cost you.
I am just gonna throw this out there if ya learn something from it sweet. I have been to a few conventions and i have only been able to take a selfie with one person…..john landis who was a complete asshole by saying i was lucky to be in a picture with him for free. I have met a few people from the walking dead and they have all been amazing. I paid for photo ops and i have paid at the table to be in pictures with a few of them. The photo ops are worth every penny. Pay to have that moment captured by someone who will take a great pic. At the table u get one shot and hope that it comes out good. If you are going to meet these people get the photo op! You may only get to meet them once so make it count! Whether its 20 or 80 save up and do it!
I have been to a few cons including Walker Stalker NY/NJ. I do agree that it is completely worth it to spend the money and have the moment capture with a quality picture. I paid for photo ops with Glenn & Maggie that came out pretty good, but that only reason it was good is because right before we walked away Maggie mentioned that she accidentally blinked. So the photographer looked at it and said alright we’ll do another. I would’ve been pretty bummed out if I got the first photo. (Thanks Maggie!) and our picture with Daryl was so rushed that the photographer took the picture as I was greeting Daryl so I’m literally tooling in the picture (which costed $100)… But then when I got a picture with Shane he included it with the autograph and all you have to do is ask the person that is taking your picture to just take a couple to assure you have a good one. (I had 3 to pick from)… To sum up this whole thing, it is worth it to pay the money so you have the pictures, memories and fun stories. But don’t just pay all that money for the photo op and expect that it will be good. All of the actors & actresses were very friendly and welcoming.
To those that have attended these events in the past, could anyone tell me if it is worth the extra $10 to purchase the JPEG in addition to the print? Thanks
The jpeg is nice for a back up. It is better than a scan will be (no dust, scratches) save it to your hard drive or to the “cloud” in case anything happens to the original. You also can get larger (or smaller) prints made from the jpeg. I think all companies are over charging for these, since they are only an email attachment in most cases, but people are willing to pay.
do you know when are the autograph tickets going to go on sale?
not selling online anymore they are cash on site.
First time going to one of these conventions! I am looking to buy a few photo ops, and I just want to make sure, if I buy one op I can have 2 adults in the photo not including the actor, correct? Also, how do the photo ops work exactly? Is the scheduled time for the op the time photos start, then do they run the rest of the day, or do you have to be in line for the photo by that time? Should you allow for a certain amount of time for each op? Just trying to plan out the days.
yes, 2 people not counting actor(s) – photo ops go pretty much ALL day, but each celebrity has a scheduled time period. You need to be in line and get your photo done during that time. If a photo op is scheduled for something like 2-2:30 and you show up at 2:45, you will probably be out of luck. Also, the advance schedule has sometimes been changed the day of the convention. Confirm your times AT the convention.
I want to do the WD Team Up photo op, but why is it so much like $460?? Also is it possible to show up at Kinney’s photo op, even if it’s sold out?
What’s the range that artist charge for autographs? Trying to budget for me and my daughter. It’s going to be a great daddy daughter weekend, we can’t wait!
It depends on the actor but at the San Francisco con it ranged from about $10-70. The higher end usually included a selfie. Also the more popular people usually charged more. Some had just a selfie option too.
Question: Are guests allowed to bring in backpacks to store merchandise, drinks or snacks?
yes
When are you going to update the photo and autograph ops? I’m tired of seeing TBD everywhere! And IMHO dead characters should charge less than alive characters. At least 50% off. Just saying! And why no LOST group photo ops?
they dont do presales of autos anymore cause a lot of general admission bought autos for lines that were too long and never got their autos. they all had to be refunded. too bad cause they will jack up the prices on some celebs. You may break even because some will charge less than online price and you can skip the online taxes and convenience fee.
The dead characters do charge less, like Sara Wayne Callies and Shane charged $40 for a self pic/auto combination. Hershel $40 as well. Governor was $50 compared to Glenn and Carl at $60.
How long are the photo ops on sale before the event? When is the deadline if I want to preorder?
the sell even when the event is happening but the bigger names sell out somtimes. last time glen sold out. this time maybe carol since danai cancelled.
Is it cheaper to buy the photo ops prior to the event or is it the same at the event? Does anyone know how much each actor charges for an autograph? I just didn’t expect the photos or the autographs to be so expensive
its about the same cause online they charge convenience fee and taxes when your there i don’t think they charge tax but the price is slightly higher. If you see a good price lock it in online cause they have the ability to jack up the price at will. Not only that but it might get sold out for the bigger celebs.
Does anyone know which TWD actors let you take selfies with them and not have to buy a photo op?
Ive asked that before, I never really get a good answer. I’m only doing photos because I can’t afford to do both.
They say its up to the guest but Ive been to 100s of these things. This is the only con Ive been to where I had to pay extra for a pic from TWD cast. Every other con Ive been to they let you take a pic if you buy an autograph. I was surprised last year how many people I bought autographs for and wasn’t allowed a pic.
I cant find how much autographs are help please
At the San Francisco con Chandler Riggs was the only one that didn’t allow pictures at the autograph table. Some of the celebrities had just a selfie option. Some included a selfie with an autograph.
Is there going to be a photo op special with Mika and Lizzie?
When will we find out how much the new comers prices are. Its my first wsc, but I’m on a tight budget. And I wanted to know with people like Vincent and Brighton
brighton sharbino was like 20 for a self photo and 30 for a auto. bundle is $40. it can change though. Vincent ward? im assuming hes the preacher. Sometimes they have unrealistically high cost like $60 even though their characters are just side char.
Do we have to pay the actors to sign something or just pay for their autographed pictures?????
Some people don’t have that great of pics to get signed. You might be better off bringing your own item. I have a poster Im getting signed.
thats true rosita had one photo to choose from. She refused to sign my bb gun so i had to run off and buy somthing else.
they sign in front of you
y’all change the time and price for chandler on sunday? 80.00? TF
in the sf con. Carl’s auto online was $40 then when you get there in person they jack it up to $60. Tax and convenience fee online but no tax when you get there.
Hi everyone! I have a question hopefully someone can help me! Lol it’s going to be the first con I am going too and saw the photo ops…idk if I should pay ahead or not. It’s so hard to pick! Lol I want a picture with everyone but I don’t have $520. Anyways, does anyone think paying ahead is a good idea?
Your question doesn’t make sense. You don’t have the money but should you take the photos? Anyway, if you have the money you should pay online since they did sell out of glen photo ops in another convention.
will most actors stay that price they provided?
not from my experience. I say if you can get carls auto for $40 online then buy it cause he jacks up the price since no other major character is showing up.
Are the actors dressed in civilian clothes for the photo opps? For example, If I want to do the whole cast photo, will I stand out if I don’t dress up too?
they dress casual. rosita and merl are the only ones that kinda dress up.
I will be taking the train to Chicago and I have to be checked out of my hotel room before 11 Sunday I would really like to have a photo op with Mika and Lizzie together but I have to carry my back pack arounder with me that i’ll have my clothes in. Will they let me walk in with my back pack?
backpacks are allowed. thats a wierd question
Lol. It’s not a weird question! I had the same question last week. Most places don’t allow big bags or packs because of thieves. I want to bring one so I can bring food/snacks and not pay high prices on food and I can also store merchandise that I purchase. Weird? Please, it’s called being practical.
I ordered a “photo op” with Danai & Laurie Holden but now Danai canceled…does anyone know if i will still get a pic with Laurie Holden and get refunded for 1/2 bcuz Danai won’t be in the picture?
oo thats a tough one. you most likey will be charged say the full price of one celebrity. Like $60.
I bought a photo op with Danai, and the site says they email you when she cancels. They supposedly automatically refund your money too. I never got an email, I found out on the site, and haven’t gotten a refund. I know the refund may take a week or two, but not getting the email makes me nervous.
I want to order photo op for my daughter who is going but I am not going. What is needed for her since I am paying on line with my cc.
when you order online you can print out the ticket with a barcode. thats all she needs to get the photo op. it can only be scanned once so treat it as cash.
I live in the suburbs and am only going on Sunday. Is it really necessary to go Friday for Will Call, or are the lines going to be insane on Sunday? I don’t want to spend half a day trying to get in.
I have bought one Photo Op at 6:00 but there is another I want to buy for 6:30. Is that enough time or will we miss the second photo? Don’t want to spend money if we can’t make it.
I hope I don’t have to wait along time because if I’m going to make it to everyone I want I’m going to have to go fast! Here I come walker stalker con 2015 Chicago #walkerstalkercon2015Chicago
I am really looking forward the event, but I am upset that they raised the price of Chandler Rigg’s photo op. I bought myself and my daughter a ticket to the Rigg’s concert first and then went to buy the photo for her and was stunned that it doubled in price. She is only 9 and this is her birthday gift so I already promised her a photo with him therefore I feel like I can’t let her down, but it’s really not cool to do that last minute. $91 with tax. I guess no photos for me!
I agree! I think its ridiculous. We bought it for my daughter too but it will be the first and last time we ever do something like this.
This is my first time going to the Walker Stalker Con, do actors hang around after/before the convention to meet and greet fans?
